Sport fishermen recognise Islamorada as
the worlds sport fishing capital. Shallow, clear waters allow
anglers to fish with light tackle for big fish of many different
species.
Islamorada is about halfway between Miami and Key West; spread over
four islands. There is the chance to fish the off-shore reefs or
fish Bayside for tarpon, bonefish, permit, sharks barracuda, stingrays
and many more.
The main fish targeted are tarpon and shark. Tarpon, regarded by
many as the number one sportfish in the world, offer great excitement
and drama.
A particular attraction of this holiday is that most, if not all,
of your fishing will be with Englishman John Rawle, one of the most
knowledgeable sea anglers on either side of the Atlantic, and a
prolific writer on the subject. John is great company, and with
ten seasons of fishing the waters off Islamorada under his belt,
has established himself as being one of the top tarpon guides on
the Keys.
