SKELETON COAST

This is an almost unbelievable experience, fishing from the shore on the stunningly beautiful Skeleton Coast in Namibia for bronze whalers, or copper sharks as they are widely known.

This fishing was introduced to British anglers in the mid nineties, and it has since become one of the most talked about sea-fishing destinations. After all, where else can an angler be more or less guaranteed to catch fish over 100 pounds – from the shore?

Clients fish with Namibia’s undisputed number one shore fishing guide, Johan Burger. It is a reasonable expectation to catch a shark of over 200 pounds, but imagine how Paul Bowen felt after catching a 430 pound monster. The three and a half hour flight saw Paul dragged almost two miles up the beach from where he first hooked his fish!

The season begins in October, running through to April.
